Crépuscule is traditional Scottish music band from Quebec City featuring Marie-Noelle Harvey (fiddle), Christian Haerinck (Lowland pipes, Scottish smallpipes, great highland bagpipes), Dominic Haerinck (voice, harp, cittern, banjo, guitar )and Jean-François Gagné (percussion).
For its repertoire, Crépuscule delves into the traditional music of the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands. Fiddling tunes that can be at once lively and romantic, the band favors a musical style closer to the old dance tunes than the more recent military piping tradition. Crépuscule also plays tunes from Ireland and its own compositions. Besides playing instrumental music - reels, jigs, strathspeys and airs - the four members also delight in songs, in English or Scottish gaelic, sung to new melodies or to the traditional ones.
